Adventures at Sun Moon Lake arrival day

So our wifi has been bunk for the last few days. Kitsune was able to tether his Taiwan SIM card he purchased to the laptop while in Beitou, but it seems that they decided it wasn't kosher and put a block on it after we got to Sun Moon Lake.

So no posts.

But now we have made it back to Taipei, and the hotel we are staying at, Park Taipei, has it's own secured wifi so it's slightly better, but still not great, signing into our private things.

So now we post!

Anyways, lets backtrack to our days at Sun Moon Lake.

The balcony was amazing. The weather was absolutely perfect the two days we were there, and while Kitsune had to work, I was out on that balcony reading with Little Bear. It was heaven.

We were still feeling the jet lag, and Kitsune was somewhat under the weather, so we took our first afternoon/evening there easy. Wandered about the town, and down the Hanbi trail. Got to see all the historical pavilions and pagodas, and read about their stories. It was pleasant and relaxing.

The tastiest thing evar!! It's some wheel pastry with scallions and amazingness.
As we headed back toward out hotel we found a small stand that had these Scallion Wheel Cakes. They are amazing. The flavor, the texture, the taste...we feel in love. Little Bear was rather fond as well.

The first part of dinner, Porkchop
We were tired, and for some reason, we both have not had much of an appetite since we have been here. It's depressing! We pass so much food, and it all smells so good...but we have no stomach space to eat. Sigh. Anyways, we hadn't eaten that day except for breakfast in Beitou and that wheel pancake, so we let ourselves be herded into one of the restaurants right next to our hotel. It was quick and tasty, but we were just tired. We shared some braised pork belly and veggies, and Taiwanese Pork chop. Then it was off to rest.

TenRen tea with Little Bear and Kitsune on our fab balcony in the evening.
Our hotel has a little TenRen tea shop in it's lobby, so I grabbed a green tea with fruit (iced) and we headed up to our room to unwind. It was refreshing, and the cool evening air was wonderful. We loved it there.

Aboriginal side of the lake, directly across from our hotel
The temple and Pagoda lit up at night.
Off to bed we go! (it's only 7:30pm and Kitsune is passed out. I made it until around 9pm :P)
