My first foray into the breakfast buffet. |
Kitsune has been utterly ruined for Kimchi.
COMPLETELY
So much so, that he is desperate for me to figure out how to recreate it at home if at all possible. There was talk about getting a Kimchi pot at H-Mart.
O.o
I do admit, that is was really really good kimchi. The best kimchi I have ever had in fact. Just...not so sure about forays into fermenting my own.
The buffet was huge and had a large diverse spread. Once done with breakfast we dashed out to pick up our bear friends and then proceeded to check out of our hotel. We boarded the Airport Limo Bus this time instead of taking the trains. That way we would be able to see some of the city on our way out.

Random view from the bus |
Once we boarded our flight to Taipei, it was pretty much old hat for us. The new MRT station had been completed which was pretty neat, so instead of the long bus ride, we chose to refill our EZCards and catch the train to Taipei Main Station. From there we hoped on the Red line and road a million stops up to Beitou.

XinBeitou / Beitou Station |
Since it was rainy, we decided to ride the special train that goes to XinBeitou instead of walking like we usually would (also....heavy backpacks!!). We stopped at a Welcome to grab some large bottles of water, and since it was late, the 7-Eleven for some cold sandwiches.
From there it was just a short distance to our hot spring hotel and bliss.
Ahhhhh......
Onsen are simply DIVINE.
